Yung Berg to educate our future generation on the importance of voting

If this isn’t a another blatant sign that the world is ending, then I don’t know what is. Yung Berg is most famous for getting beaten up and having his gaudy chains (see above) stolen. He is basically nothing more than a one-hit wonder after the 2007 song “Sexy Can I” with Ray-J. So, naturally, it comes as no surprise that Rock the Vote is teaming up with Yung Berg.

For whatever reason I can’t fathom, Rock the Vote has reached out to Yung Berg, and he is working with the partisan organization to teach high schoolers about the importance of voting as part of their “Democracy Class.” He will be teaching at Felix Varela Senior High School in Miami for the day, and this Rock the Vote program is taking place in over 1,000 classrooms collectively countrywide. If I’m supposed to be impressed that a class about democracy is being taught in 1,000 classrooms…it’s not working. Isn’t democracy a basic and inherent element of American History? Plus, that figure seems miniscule. I guess it’s another example of the public school system failing.

Whoever is responsible at Rock the Vote for bringing in Yung Berg should be fired. The Obama Administration is obviously concerned about turning out the youth vote in the same numbers that they did for 2008, and I don’t think an association with Yung Berg is going to be helpful. In fact, I don’t think it will be helpful for any political party. I guess all the relevant and respectable rappers were already busy tomorrow.
