Beyonce and her Isabel Marant sneakers in “Love On Top”

King B is so fly. Shit. It’s a rare occasion because I’m not even being sarcastic. She looks super cute in the beginning with that leotard thing, sneakers, and that Czech military hat. I feel like she’s one of the only people who could pull that off. I mean, I can’t imagine myself wearing a leotard and sneakers, except maybe on Halloween, but even then, I don’t think people would recognize who I was dressing up as.

She’s rocking a pair of hidden wedge sneakers from French designer Isabel Marant that have a current market value of $1000. In other words, they are sold out everywhere, and that’s what people are trying to sell them for on eBay.

The first time I heard “Love On Top” was when she performed it on the VMA’s, with that disgustingly ostentatious introduction to her baby bump. Other than that, though, I actually really enjoyed that performance. You can hear the love and joy in her voice, and it is almost contagious enough to melt my icebox of a heart.

“Love On Top” is definitely one of my favorite songs off 4, perhaps even the one that made me want to listen to the album (please accept my late pass). This is kind of lame, but I like how she’s basically singing the same thing over and over, and it moves into new keys.

Like her other videos from 4 that are “inspired” by other artists, “Love On Top” is “inspired” by New Edition’s video for “If It Isn’t Love.”
