Spoiler alert: lots of similarities between Wayne’s and Ja Rule’s ’07 arrests in NYC

No matter what way I look at it, the day that Ja Rule and Lil Wayne were arrested is eery (maybe because my birthday is involved later on down the road).  Are they coincidences? Because there sure are an awful lot of similarities between the two arrests. No matter what, there is a lot of irony here.

On July 22nd, 2007, Ja Rule was arrested in New York City after performing at Manhattan’s Beacon Theater, at one point sharing the stage with Lil Wayne, when a routine traffic stop caused his Maybach to be pulled over and an unlicensed .40 caliber pistol was found.

On July 22nd, 2007, Lil Wayne was arrested in New York City after performing at Manhattan’s Beacon Theater, at one point sharing the stage with Ja Rule, when authorities boarded his tour bus after smelling weed and an unlicensed .40 caliber pistol was found.

It is a little curious that these arrests happened the same night, yet Ja Rule is dealt with after Wayne completes his time? Maybe I should reconsider law school even though that could mean I wear a suit and bend the truth and feel awful so I can better understand our judiciary system.

Like Wayne, Ja Rule performed at a concert in Manhattan.  Like Wayne, Ja Rule was the cause of a routine traffic stop.  Like Wayne, Ja Rule had an unlicensed .40 caliber pistol on himself.  Like Wayne, Ja Rule was arrested after the concert.  Like Wayne, Ja Rule plead guilty to attempted criminal possession of a gun, and is expected to serve two years in the clink.  Like Wayne, he is due in court on exactly February 9th to set a date for sentencing. And like Wayne, Ja Rule has the same lawyer.

My Ja sauce is the AP while TBIH is my Wayne sauce.
