Conclusion: When I set out to analyze these lyrics, I hoped to gain a deeper understanding. Instead, I just had a bunch of questions. I thought maybe if I looked at the lyrics, there would be some cohesiveness, or I would at least see some clever word play. Unfortunately, I noticed neither, which is particularly saddening when you consider how good Beam Me Up Scotty was. Why doesn’t this sound similar to “I Get Crazy?” This song is wack on so many levels, but I think the worst part of it is the lyrics. This goes to show that some artists can rap over a mediocre beat, and make it great, and some can’t.
