In other distressing educational news…

Jim Jones was cleared to teach in New York (read about my initial objections to that here).  He phoned into Angela Yee’s morning show the other day, and talked about how he’ll be ruining the lives of some kids.  He will teach one day a week for eight weeks, covering all aspects of the music industry: management, marketing, production, etc., since those skills will end up being useful to 99% of the kids.

But maybe, it will be like T.I.’s instance, and his celebrity rather than he himself will encourage kids to show up to school.  Than again, it’s Jim Jones we’re talking about.  If I had children attending this school, I would be more bewildered as to why the school board actually wants him to teach, rather than pissed off in the case of T.I.
