Hov looks like he’s having a grand old time
Earlier today, Jay-Z attended the groundbreaking event for the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn, which is going to be the new home for the New Jersey Nets, of which Hov is a minority shareholder. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone look happier than Hov. Some of my favorite politicians were also in attendance: Governor Paterson, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and Rev. Al Sharpton.
From what I understand, this is not the racino that I blogged about a while ago. Nonetheless, there are still some controversies associated with the project, namely this pesky little rule of “eminent domain.” If the government seizing private property to build a sports arena isn’t fishy, then I don’t know what is.
While I might knock Hov pretty frequently for his association with Paterson, because Paterson is failing pretty spectacularly, I do think it’s great and admirable that Hov is so involved in his community.
